our story
Heyy Girl Foundation was born from lived experience and a determination to create a different path for the next generation of girls.
Our founder, Lamekia, knows firsthand how quickly life can change. After experiencing housing instability as a young girl and later becoming a young mother, she had to navigate adulthood early. With determination, opportunity, and support, she built a career in banking and finance and learned firsthand the power of financial knowledge, access, and strong relationships.
That journey revealed a greater purpose: to give girls the tools, financial knowledge, exposure, and support they need before a crisis happens, helping them build economic stability, avoid housing instability, and enter adulthood prepared to thrive.
Our Mission
To prepare girls ages 12–18, particularly those vulnerable to economic and housing instability, for adulthood through financial literacy, life skills, mentorship, career exposure, and real-world opportunities that build pathways to economic mobility and self-sufficiency.

Lamekia's Why
Lamekia founded HeyyGirl Foundation to create the kind of support she wished she had earlier in life. Her journey through housing instability, early motherhood, and building a career in banking and finance gave her a unique perspective on what girls truly needs to succeed.
Today' she's committed to opening doors for the next generation by providing guidance, exposure, and opportunities that help girls move from surviving to thriving.
