HeyyGirl Foundation Partners with BMO to Help Girls Put Financial Literacy Into Practice
Financial literacy becomes even more powerful when young people have an opportunity to put what they’ve learned into practice.
HeyyGirl Foundation was thrilled to announce a partnership with BMO designed to help participants take an important step toward building real-world financial experience.
Through the partnership, each young woman completing a HeyyGirl cohort would have the opportunity to establish a Savings Builder Account with BMO. HeyyGirl Foundation would then make the participant’s first deposit into the account.
The initiative was designed to move financial education beyond the classroom.
Throughout their courses, HeyyGirl participants learn financial fundamentals that can help prepare them for greater independence and financial success. The BMO partnership created an opportunity for participants to begin applying those lessons firsthand.
With their accounts, participants could gain experience with financial concepts including making deposits and withdrawals, saving toward personal goals, budgeting, and smart money management.
BMO described the partnership as an extension of a shared commitment to financial empowerment and preparing young women for financial success early in life.
That mission closely reflects HeyyGirl Foundation’s belief that girls deserve more than information—they deserve access and opportunities to use what they learn.
By connecting financial education with practical experience, HeyyGirl continues working to equip young women with tools that can help them make informed decisions and build stronger financial foundations for adulthood.
Because learning how money works is important. Having the opportunity to put that knowledge into action can change what comes next.
